If your chapter list or page layout options seem to be missing, don’t worry — they’re usually just hidden due to screen size.
The cookbook editor automatically adjusts to fit different screens (laptops, tablets, smaller browser windows). When space is limited, some menus are collapsed behind icons to make room. This is what that looks like:
Why this happens
Smaller screens (like tablets) hide some menus.
If your browser window isn’t full size, the editor adjusts automatically.
If your screen is zoomed in, there may not be enough space to show everything.
Nothing has been deleted — it’s just temporarily hidden.
How to get the full editing view back
Step 1: Maximize your browser window
Drag the browser window to fill your entire screen.
Make sure no other windows are visible behind it.
Work on a laptop or desktop computer rather than a tablet or phone
Step 2: Zoom out slightly (very common fix)
Reducing your browser zoom allows more of the editor to fit on screen.
On a Mac:
Hold down Command
While holding it, press the minus (-) key
On a PC:
Hold down Control
While holding it, press the minus (-) key
You can zoom back in anytime by pressing Command + (Mac) or Control + (PC). This is what you'll see when the editing options are all visible:
Good to know
The editing tools are never removed — they’re simply hidden when space is limited. Adjusting your window size or zoom level will restore them.
If you’re still unable to see your editing options after trying the steps above, please contact support and we’ll be happy to help.
