People work on all different screen sizes, which means the cookbook-making program has to adjust in order to accommodate them all. If you're working on a laptop or desktop and have your browser open to the full size of the screen, you should see this:
If, however, you're working on a smaller screen (like a tablet) or your browser window is smaller than the full screen size, the chapters/recipes and page layout menus will be hidden behind these icons in order to make space:
If you are on a computer or laptop, there are several ways you can get back to the 'full' editing screen:
First, make sure your browser window is as large as it can be (drag the sides of it to the edge of the screen, so no other programs/pages are visible behind it.
Second, 'zoom out' on the screen view so more information can fit. On a Mac or Macbook, this can be done by pressing down the "Command" button, then, (while still holding Command) press the dash/minus key sign, which is usually found next to the zero button in the top right row (two keys left of the Delete button). That will adjust the screen view 'down' in size, making more room available.
On a PC, zoom out by pressing "Control," holding it down, then pressing the dash/minus key. Alternatively, you can zoom in by pressing the "+" key.
