This is an easy problem to fix! First, here's how it can happen:
For most of the templates, both the Table of Contents (ToC) and Index are auto-populated from the information you enter into each chapter. When you type out the name of each chapter title ("Breakfast," for example) the program pulls that title and page number and inserts it into the ToC.
Often, the chapter title pages are designed to be all uppercase letters (BREAKFAST, SOUPS & SALADS, MAIN DISHES, etc). These titles will appear uppercase regardless of how you actually type in the letters. For example, you could type "bReaKFasT" and the program will convert it to appear as "BREAKFAST."
However, if the template's ToC is designed to have upper and lowercase titles (ie, "Breakfast" instead of "BREAKFAST"), then the way you typed it into the chapter title page ("bReaKFasT" will be how it appears in the Table of Contents.
Therefore, all you need to do to fix this issue is go back and retype the chapter title pages using the correct upper and lowercase letters.
How do you know if you've got it right? After you've typed in the chapter title, look to see how it appears in the menu to the left. If it looks the way you'd like it to appear in the ToC, you're good to go!
